Burma Lions? Rumba Loin? Unarm Boil? Guess whos been at the anagram machine

Now the good thing about being a beginner in a full contact martial art such as Wu Shu Kwan must be the being kicked in the head. So much so that one pays for the privilege. Last night, there were some new punters at the Hammersmith class. People who didn’t pay heed to the barked words of the instructress, “Don’t hit them too hard!”

I would have forgiven one particularly light-footed combatant his deafness. But his luck sure ran out last night, oh yes buster. After he’d got tired of beating me about the chin, he had a go at kicking seven shades of sunday out of me. After his deafness, that was to be his second, and final mistake. A mistake that I could not forgive.

Suffice it to say that the bout had to be stopped shortly afterwards, and it was my unwitting opponent that was struggling to walk away. Ha! He played right into my vulnerable defenseless beginner trap. He’d hurt his foot after kicking me too hard.

I must admit, my abdomen and legs hurt a fair bit today, but it was a victory nevertheless.

“Oil rub man,” as my anagram machine would say.
