Biathlonic

So I started tonight. After all of the different types of fitness I’ve aspired to in the last six years, I’ve decided to ditch ‘un-‘ for a while. I got me some runnin shoes, and I’m going for a 10k at the end of April. Something to do with some lardy governor in the Texas Round Up sending me a letter. You too can join the team – Team USA, natch. There’s no pressure to do the run at the end, but colourful graphics visually depict how much exercise you’ve logged on the website.

I managed a 3 mile run at my first attempt, and I’ve got until April 29th to work up to 6.3 miles.

I also decided it was a great idea to join oriori1 on the 50 mile Hill Country Ride for AIDS, before realising that it is at the same time as the above race. Just now, as I typed the entry. Dang it. I think doing both on the same day would be challenging logistically. Maybe I’ll do the bike ride. I’ve never done a team bike ride before. Aaaargh. Scheduling.
