I try to avoid chain restaurants, and as I wandered past Quizno’s and Taco Cabana on North Lamar, I found GM Steakhouse. If you’re passing, go there. It is complete with an unintelligible short order (short bus) cook, a fat owner who sways in a rocking chair as he puffs on a fat cigar, and a restroom that is only accessible by traversing the greasepit that serves for a cooking area behind the counter. Classy and hygienic.
