I like Mongolia. It’s good. It’s dusty as hell – zilch humidty, and the elements are at best unkind and unpredictable. Two nights ago, I was freezing my butt off in a tent. Today it is sunny (it’s sunny most of the time – except at night) and positively above zero. Quite clement for the time of year as you might say. Apparently it is +7C. Awesome.
It’s hard to describe the driving style, but at least the ‘roads’ have a line down the centre in the ‘city’. Not that it matters much to the motorists, who hardly see the thin white line as a recommendation even. The only people who would respect the authority of the line are the lemming like pedestrians. They sprint to the line in an effort to cross the road. Then, depending on traffic conditions, they might peg it over to the other side, or more likely, step foreward and back across the line. It’s like some huge game of frogger, where they keep dodging traffic which from both directions as it more or less ignores the line they are using as a lily pad.
