What’s the movie where the dude holds a boombox over his head in the rain as he’s lame and no-one had the decency to shoot him and put him out of his misery?
It’s the one where the best line is apparently, “I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen”, yet the lead character is too limp-wristed to stab himself in the eye with it in the first scene and make the movie into a short and save us 90 minutes of our lives. Also known as
“Say Anything”
In fact, I think it’s not even that film I’m thinking of with John Cusack, and I have to say I may not even have seen Say Anything, I’m in fact thinking of High Fidelity, which was made 11 years later, and in which John Cusack’s character is going through his midlife crisis, and his ex takes him back as she can’t be bothered not to. Real gripping stuff. Take a guy back because your dad dies, and there’s no-one else around.
Score one for lethargy.
Can you name one good John Cusack movie? Comment if you can.
Um…The Grifters? Bullets over Broadway? Being John Malkovich?
That Cussack tart was in the John Malko movie? Must have missed him. Liked the move though.
