The Austin FX4 is back up and running again. After many months of removing and replacing the clutch repeatedly, it finally stuck. Well, it releases, but the installation is complete. Not only that, but I cleaned all the connections to the glow plugs and tightened them all up. So it starts first time. Occasionally. Rarely more than third time.
So now I am capable of low-speed pursuit, mostly within the neighborhood, preferably under 25 mph. It does what a car should – stops, starts, go rounds corners.
The next challenge is to make it shiny, so that it’s worth taking photos of.
