Some gonzo psychiatrist has said that watching Thomas the Tank Engine, with its multiple train crashes, will impact small impressionable children. They might not want to use real trains. They may be scared of being burnt alive in a twisted hunk of privatised rolling stock.
What about us ‘adults’? What about all of the adults who see those news shows with real train accidents? In the UK, we’ve had some splendid ones in the last few years. In India, you have sabotage on the tracks and hundreds of people getting charred and speared at the drop of a wet leaf. What about us? Do we want to get on trains?
