Great thing to slip into the middle of sentences: “Bic bom crataar.” As proved by our Vietnamese guide who was showing us what the effects of 100,000 tonnes of explosive can do to a small place within three months as we peered out of the windows of our tour bus. I’m not sure whether its Vietnamese propoganda (they did kind of win, but as our guide said, no-one really won), but it seems that some American and local chaps put up a hell of a fight to avoid losing a bit of ground that they later abandonned…. by this time the landscape was rendered a bit of a moonscape full of ‘big bomb craters’. Not to mention around 11,000 deaths. War sucks. I can’t believe people still have them.
