Another 1982 Subaru Brat for sale

Check the comments at the bottom for other Brats for sale! Somehow me posting about a Subaru Brat for sale has resulted in someone sending me photos of their brat for sale. It looks awesome, and apparently according to the owner, Dale, it ran until recently and now just needs a carb rebuild and a new battery. Just for the heck of it, and to completely contradict my desire never to have anything to do with being a used car broker, here are some pictures. If you’re interested, comment below and I’ll hook you up with Dale’s contact details.

Oh, and Dale says he wants $1500 for this beauty. It’s from 1982.

I think the yellow is rather fetching, and the bodywork looks great. I really love the way these little cars look when they’re all polished up. They’re so petite, they almost look like mobile candy. How could you ever drive one of these and be angry?

I first got turned on to the phenomenon that is the Brat by a friend of a friend named David who insisted that being in possession of such a car would make him a more complete and happy camper. So I went to an auction he told me about and bought one, knowing nothing about them. And I sold it for a profit. Incredible little machines. Now if only I could get my hands on a running one…

My husband has been looking for one of these. Not sure about the yellow, but hey, I won’t be driving it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Please share my info with Dale if it’s still available. Thanks!

    1. Will do – I’ll let Dale know. It seems I’ve set up kind of a dating site for Subaru Brats!

This is Dale – owner of the Subaru Brat.
Brat was gray when I bought it, originally was red.
When I first started driving it, seemed to be totally unnoticed running around.
After painting it Hummer Yellow – had people shout at me at stop lights with questions like “What the H@!! is it?” because many people have never even seen one of these trucks.
Has slightly over 210k miles on it. I saw an ad for a 1986 that had over 250k miles at near $4k..
There were something like 76,000 or 79,000 of these brought to the states when they were in production and a lot less still in existence today. As of today 09/23/11 it’s still available. If I’m still in possession of it by October 1st, I’m going to post it in an online auction with minimum bid of $1,500…. Serious buyers only can contact me at deicker@comcast.net for more info or to make a bid on the little truck.

  3. I’m selling my 1984 TURBO brat… Ultra rare… only about 300 of them were ever sold in the U.S.
    (I need a “date” with a good buyer… I strongly support “BratMatch.com” ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

My first car was a Subaru Brat-I was sorry I ever sold it. I would love to buy your Turbo Brat !!
How much $ ? Is it stick (4or5 spd.?)or auto ? How many miles? Where abouts is it? -I’m in Reading, Pa. 19608.
As a side note I have a 77′ Dodge W200 Powerwagon club cab 4×4 4 speed with 440BB- It is been fully restored-absolutely no rust. It was built to pull sleds at truck shows-it had a pull of 284 ft. So it has high horsepower and high compression. I’d like to get $4500 for it. Anyone interested email me at thewatkinsjrclan@aol.com

  5. Aaron, if you still have the brat please provide some contact info ,, I am looking for one and a turbo would be real cool !! email me your info and some pics if you can.

    Thanks

      1. No worries Andy – I just keep people’s contact info private unless they give me permission – it stops a lot of spam ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Dale, do you still have yours? if so what auction site are you going to put it on? I tried to email you but it wont go through.
