I’ve never been published on the home page of Technorati before

So last night I decided to write my usual Thursday night outpouring, but this time on someone else’s site. I looked at a few trending topics in the Technorati writers group, and chose to write for them about video games. With my “don’t write for money” mentor’s voice ringing in my ears, and my recent foray into adsense revenue yielding almost enough to cover the cost of the coffee shop cake that I ate while writing the multi-cent earning articles, I decided to get published. And to become famous.

Dang it's hard to highlight things on a page that's so sparkley already

And lo and behold, I find myself on the front page of Technorati with an article about Disney Universe – a game coming in Autumn that promises absolutely nothing original in terms of game play or concepts. The only thing that it has is characters from Disney rather than from, say, Super Mario.

The funny thing is that I knew nothing about the game when I started writing, and relied on reading and reviewing a bunch of other reviews. It makes me worry that the internet is getting filled up with plagiarized drivel, all based on a few real authors who are manufacturing the news in a small railway siding shed near Clapham Junction.

I took a screenshot as I’ve never been on the homepage of another website before (well not

since 2002 when I got a big spike of traffic from being on the front page of blogger.com). And it won’t last forever.

Ron Malibu meets every Thursday evening to take over the world and write himself to financial freedom. Contact him to find out which secret Austin coffee shop will host the next cake-fuelled writer mashup.

    1. Thanks for filtering the NYT for me. It’s like having my own literary agent – someone who scours the news for interesting stories. Brilliant!
