Top of mind simplistic differences that form part of reverse culture shock:
- wearing underwear
- wearing shoes with closed toes
- having to pay much more for things than they’re worth
- not being targetted by salesmen because you’re caucasian
- insidious second hand car salesmen smarming at you
- pints of strong continental lager
- the weather being pants
- talking about the weather being pants and complaining about everything in general
- the food is different, but not all good, or cheap
- worrying about not having been paid in six months
- talking about the cost of everything to people who aren’t remotely interested
