Confession: Not many people are going to have any sympathy for the protagonist in the video below. It cracks me up though. This video is not safe for work
Confession: I’m a real estate agent. I recall one of my dad’s colleagues in the UK meeting me and we got to talking. We hit it off and when I answered her question about her profession, she looked disappointed. I got the subtle non-verbal cues, but to make sure her point got across, she said, “Oh, it’s a shame you’re an estate agent. I was starting to like you.”
I have the same gut feeling about real estate agents, and I try not to be too shallow or superficial about it. My gut seems to treat me quite well, except when I eat dairy, so my default stance on meeting a real estate agent is general mis-trust and suspicion. Now what that says about the way I feel about my current profession will be left for another post and possibly several decades of therapy.
At any rate, I was sent this little gem today by an agent who I knew socially before either of us became agents. I guess you could argue that I trusted him more back then, but that’s neither here nor there, and opens cans of worms about self-trust. I’ll leave that can opener with the future therapist. [Incidentally, if any of you know a good therapist, i.e. one that you or “your friend” don’t need to see any more, feel free to leave their details in the comment section]
Like a lemon in a gin and tonic, I’m somewhat bitter and twisted, and I got a kick out of this little video. Now my aim according to my new blog title, is to become less jaded. And to that end, I have to say that I really like the vast majority of the people I work with. The good news is that I haven’t spent hours making a video about my bitterness(yet) and can instead laugh for three minutes at this:
Confession: I plagiarize unashamedly. Imitation is the best form of flattery and all that. I’m borrowing the confession idea from another blogger.

I am also a realtor. Not actively, but still keep up my license. I was in r.e for over 20 years when the bubble burst. Got out a couple of years later.
This video is great. It about covers all the absurd demand that owners can make. Forgot one – they want a virtual tour listed on MLS, but that probably was assumed!!!

Thanks Diane – it makes me laugh hard. I bet new agents could use this as a training exercise 😉
Hey Ron, I saw this video a few years ago and I loved it, I tried to play it for some friends today and the link isn’t working anymore! Do you have another copy of this video anywhere?!
Thanks! So funny!!
I wish – it’s gone 🙁
