Top Tip: Never agree to meet new friends at the Beijing Hotel Lobby. They are sure to take your absence as a snub and think the worst. There are at least three Beijing Hotels, each with a lobby, each filled with forlorn looking people who have been stood up.
Best sword fight of the day: Peking Opera. Well worth putting up with the wailing (really annoying squeaky whining) first show. Thank God she killed herself at the end (something to do with the death of love). The second show was awesome, pitting Monkey against 18 spirits, each with their own special weapon, often four at a time. Lots of tumbling bodies, whirling sticks, flying clouds and feats of both synchronisation and flexibility. The nature of monkey is irrepresable.
